Transports May Be Signaling Trouble Ahead

Michael Kahn writing for Barron’s pointed out the transportation indices have been showing weakness versus the S&P 500 recently. It may be just a blip or it could be signaling there are serious problems with the economic recovery. The transports were relatively weak in September continuing into the second week of October, which didn’t presage any serious problems.
