SPDR Portfolio Emerging Markets ETF Added to the SMA Portfolio
Today’s mid-day market plunge allowed me to initiate a position in the SPDR Portfolio Emerging Markets ETF (SPEM) at a price of $32.98. The allocation to SPEM is approximately 5.3% of the portfolio. My research indicates SPEM is currently the lowest cost emerging markets ETF in existence. The expense ratio is 0.11%.
Emerging markets have underperformed U. S. stock indexes by a wide market since 2011 and are comparatively undervalued.
