On May 7, 2008, Hilary Kramer, on The Nightly Business Report, recommended several scrap metal recyclers including:

  • Metalico (MEA, 13.70) who she said should reach 20 as they continue to buy smaller recyclers. Kramer also said Metalico could also be an acquisition target.
  • Sims Group (SMS, 34.12), which could go to 40 since no one knows about it.
  • Industrial Services of America Inc. (IDSA, 11.61)
  • Schnitzer (SCHN,93.30), Kramer’s target $110.

On May 8th, Frank Cappiello recommended Brazil (EWZ, 92.40) which he said will be an energy exporter very shortly and should be a good 10 year investment. Cappiello also recommended Costco (COST, 71.20), Walmart (WMT, 57.16) and Halliburton (HAL, 48.01).

On May 9th, William Ackman, Pershing Square Capital Management, recommended Target (TGT, 52.24), which Pershing has had a 10% interest in since July ’07.
