John Cochrane, "Stocks could easily fall a lot more"

In a well-written and researched piece in the Wall Street Journal, John Cochrane questions, “Is Now the Time to Buy Stocks?”

His conclusion is that stocks are priced at their long-term averages in relation to dividends and earnings, but with a recession of unknown magnitude heading our way, things could get a lot worse. However, if you have a stable income and can ride out the volatility, it is probably time to do some buying.
