Jean-Marie Eveillard Sees Opportunities for Investment in Japan

By on August 17, 2009

Liz Claman recently interviewed “market legend” Jean-Marie Eveillard, First Eagle Funds Senior Advisor, about his thoughts on the current investment landscape. Eveillard was able to side-step many of the landmines over the past decade and outperform the general market.

Eveillard said the future would see the east outperform the west because the emerging markets have a growing manufacturing base while the west is in decline. He mentioned that Japan still has world-class enterprises and the market is still down 75% from where it was 20 years ago, in spite of the recent rally.
