Individual Investor Stock Allocations at a Low Ebb

By on November 24, 2008

Barry Ritholtz, who runs The Big Picture, posted an interesting chart from AAII showing investor’s equity allocation in relation to their mean stock allocation. It shows that investors are allocating only 45% of their portfolios to equities versus the normal 60%. This has only occurred a few times in the past 20 years and would indicate that much of the selling pressure has been released in the last couple of months.
