Buyout of Symbol Technologies

By on January 12, 2007

The aggressive portfolio recently received an injection of cash from Motorola’s buyout of Symbol Technologies at $15 per share.

Likewise, Ace Cash Express was taken over a few months ago. The cash from the buyout of Ace was invested in the Morgan Stanley Municipal Premium Income Trust (NYSE: PIA), a closed-end municipal bond fund.

Uses for the cash from the Symbol buyout will be explored over the next several days. My inclination is to not invest in stocks since the market is not cheap. However, there are presently not very many attractively priced asset classes to choose from.
