75% of S&P 500 Stocks Are Above Their 50 Day Moving Average

There have recently been many posts in the blogosphere and beyond about divergences from moving averages given the extreme volatility in the market over the past six months. Well here’s another from Bespoke Investment Group. It just happens that a large percentage of stocks are now over their 50-day moving average which has indicated significant near-term resistance to going up much further. Bespoke breaks down the sectors and their status regarding this measure (e.g., 100% of the telecoms are currently over the 50 day moving average).
